I have been pretty lucky in my travel experiences that most people aren't allotted in life. I've been to 9 countries in Europe alone, most of the states and parts of Canada. My hope is to get through the rest of Europe and hopefully a few different continents.
I recently just took a trip over this past summer with one of my best friends who has been working on cruise ships for the past year and a half. Cruising isn't my preferred way to travel as I don't feel that you can really get a sense for the places you make it to. But for some people it's "the only" way to travel.
We got to see Copenhagen, Germany, Estonia, Amsterdam, Russia and Helsinki. Now one of my biggest complaints aside from the average age of the travellers being 65 plus was the fact that we were docked in Russia for 2 days. Now the problem with this was that if you decided to get off of the boat, you either had to take a tour or had inquired a visa. As my trip was planned somewhat last minute, I didn't have time to get a visa so I had to spend the money on the cruise excursions. Now don't get me wrong, the excursions were well planned out but I prefer to do my own exploring.
Aside from the little things I did have an amazing trip because as they say "It's not where you are but who your with" And in my case it was both. :)
